I’m just going to say it. There are days where I don’t feel like working out. It seems many believe that active people always feel good and never have issues. That’s flat out wrong. Monday of this week was a rough day for me. Finals week stress was getting to me. I didn’t feel like doing much. But I pushed myself into working out even though it was a short one. I felt instantly better during and after. Maybe endorphins, maybe just the fact that I hadn’t lifted in a few days. Whatever it was, it worked. Everyone, and I mean everyone, has off days. Body builders, power lifters, trainers, fitness models. All of them have days where they feel like doing nothing. Some won’t tell you that up front. The ones that are honest about it are the ones worth following and listening to. The big difference between these professionals and many who work out is that they push through those bad days. They know progress only comes through adversity and sometimes that adversity may, at the time, seem overwhelming. But they grind. They stick to their plan and don’t let life situations get the best of them. I guess my goal with this post is to humanize the fitness professionals that sometimes may seem perfect or stress free. I guarantee you they have problems. It’s how you manage those problems that matters.
